The Crusty Nest, SS15 Subang Jaya
Good pies are hard to come by but you may want to try out The Crusty Nest in SS15 Subang Jaya. Unlike most places in Subang, The Crusty Nest has a fuss-free interior with a display kitchen area where you can watch as pies are being prepared. If you must have coffee with your pie, you may want to try their black coffee. Even thought they are not specialized in coffee, the black coffee is good complimented with the pie.

Zao, Seksyen 19 Petaling Jaya
Zao Seksyen 19, Petaling Jaya – a breakfast cafe with a lovely list of sandwich menu. Grab one before going to office, or have it during weekend brunch to power up your day.
The word “Zao” 早 means good morning in Chinese. Being an eatery shop named so, it is clear that Zao will not go far from being a cafe focuses on the most important meal of the day – breakfast. Sandwich is something they prides at. In fact, 95% of the selections on Zao menu is sandwich.
Green eggs (basically a vegetable-laced omelette) with baked pumpkin (RM10) & pork loin with mashed avocado & peas (RM18) might be the top sandwich temptations, with pleasing flavours that bridge the chasm between East & West. Each sandwich comes with a side of the day, all assembled to order, so there could be a 10-minute wait for your food.

Tujoh Cafe, Section 17 Petaling Jaya
Tujoh at Section 17, Petaling Jaya – A cafe with courtyard-style design. Great coffee and matcha latte, with all-day-brunch menu in reasonable price.
The menu springs a few surprises too – our favourite order here is the Wafu Hambagu, comprising a chicken patty stuffed with a runny yolk, topped with garlic mashed potatoes & sweet shoyu, a tasty combo that’ll be comfort food for many customers (RM23). Other competently executed headliners include a riff on beef stroganoff with Asian spices (RM18) & crispy-skinned salmon fillet slathered with creamy mentaiko sauce (RM32), complemented by flat whites (RM10) & hojicha lattes (RM12).
Overall Rating: 7.5/10. I really liked what I had that afternoon, though I have to note that customer service was still a little floppy. It appears that there were still attempting to find their grasp in things – it’s a new cafe after all. Nevertheless, I’d definitely recommend dropping by.

Stars Picker Audio Cafe, Kota Damansara
Most of us, when we wish to “escape” the world for a bit, would put on headphones or earphones and zone out to our favourite tracks. Music is after all a therapy for the mind and soul, and a café in Dataran Sunway, Kota Damansara is having music as their main attraction.
Stars Picker Audio is a headphone concept café and they have plenty of headphones and audio devices that one can use while they’re dining in the eatery. Stars Picker Audio recently relaunched and they’re introducing a new menu including meals like waffles, coffee, affogato and more.
Once inside the shop lot, there’s cozy ambiance to make one feel all relaxed and try out all the various headphones and headamps in stock and on demo. Believe me when I tell you that they practically have all the major brands like JVC, Sony, Sennheiser & Chord and some house brands such as Audeze & Hifiman in stock.
